self-efficacy study

According to a study conducted by Penn State, both schools and families can boost self-efficacy in adolescence.  Having self-confidence and the ability to overcome challenges may be the key to a successful life.  Parents can help their children by modeling the self-efficacy behavior.  "If, as you encounter challenges in your life, your constant thought is 'I can't do this,' that can be stifling. But, if you have high self-efficacy, you're going to continue to pursue your goals, find more success, and that's going to reinforce and build on itself." science daily
